Thank you for downloading NetHorus. Please be aware that this is a |

development release from Subversion which may not even work - so keep your |

local source up-to-date and report bugs! |

NetHorus is written in Ruby using the Rails framework. The original version |
|---|
| 16 |
of NetHorus, codenamed Netman, was written in PHP and perl, later rewritten |
|---|
| 17 |
in to perl using the Catalyst framework. This is therefore the third |
|---|
| 18 |
rewrite, and a great deal has been learnt. |

The aim of NetHorus is to provide a non-intrusive NMS which can be run |

alongside other NMSes, commercial and non-commercial. Nobody likes to be |

backed in to a corner and forced to run a single management system! You may |

find it different to other systems you've used - hopefully, pleasantly |

different. |
